Medanta is one of India’s leading multi-speciality healthcare providers, founded in 2009 and headquartered in Gurgaon. Now a public company, it has grown into a large healthcare network across North and East India, serving over 2 million patients annually across 30+ specialities. With its expansion into digital health, telemedicine, e-ICU, AI-assisted diagnostics, robotic surgery, and patient-facing platforms, technology has become central to improving access, experience, efficiency, and scale.
Medanta’s scale had moved beyond a traditional hospital technology setup. As its network and digital touchpoints grew, technology became central to care delivery and patient experience. The challenge was to make these systems more connected, reliable, and scalable across locations. As Medanta expanded across North and East India, it needed stronger engineering leadership to move digital services from isolated systems to a connected, scalable healthcare journey. Without this, the risk was a fragmented patient experience, slower delivery, and reduced impact from its digital transformation push.

Medanta needed a hands-on Head of Engineering who could operate within a legacy healthcare technology environment while driving digital transformation. The role required someone who could stabilise existing systems, rethink technology strategy, work closely with teams and stakeholders, and bring practical experience across BI, data tools, and healthcare systems.

Using Purple Quarter’s Behaviour Metrics Model, Vibhor Singhal was identified as a strong Nurturer and Reconstructor, making him well-suited for system rebuilding and team alignment. His interest in health tech, motivation to contribute to India’s healthcare ecosystem, and ability to spot gaps in Medanta’s systems strengthened the fit. The mandate was about bringing in a leader who could rebuild, modernise, and scale Medanta’s technology foundation for its next phase of growth.
