As a rapidly growing player in the AI EnterpriseTech domain, Obviously AI aimed to expand its presence in India by hiring a Head of Engineering (HoE). This leader needed to be a technical expert with a knack for innovative problem-solving.
However, the role required more than just technical prowess; the HoE needed to build and lead a strong team, enhance infrastructure, and drive the company's growth from the ground up, solidifying Obviously AI’s footprint in India.
While the technical requirements for the Head of Engineering role were clear, Obviously AI’s management team needed to fully grasp the role's critical importance to business development. Recognizing this, we consulted the client to seek a leader with strong business acumen and proven expertise in scaling startups.
In addition to technical skills, the new leader needed to excel in business development, product management, team building, daily operations, and customer understanding. We provided role consultation and assisted with salary negotiations.
After thoroughly evaluating our extensive talent pool, we identified Prashant Pandey as the ideal fit for the role. His decade of experience, along with his background as an advisor and founding director of engineering, made him the perfect candidate to drive Obviously AI’s scaling vision.
In our pursuit of finding synergy between the client’s requirements and the candidate’s aspirations, we found that Prashant was enthusiastic about building a brand from the ground up. Establishing Obviously AI’s foothold in India presented him with this opportunity. Using our Behavioural Metrics Model (BMM), we identified his leadership style as that of a Creator with a hands-on approach—precisely what the client needed. We successfully filled the role within 40 days.
Prashant has seamlessly integrated into Obviously AI. He is excited about the broad scope of his role, which extends beyond technical responsibilities to include overall brand establishment. Currently, he is managing the Bangalore office, focusing on team growth and infrastructure development.
