cto hiring - azentio case study

Introduction

Azentio is redefining how businesses operate by delivering mission-critical software solutions. As a global leader, Azentio serves a wide range of clients, including banks, Islamic financial institutions, insurance companies, brokers, and mid-market enterprises.

Problem Statement

Azentio sought to transition from a product solutions consulting company to a fully-fledged product software company. To achieve this, they needed a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with extensive Fintech experience. The company’s primary goals included transitioning from a monolithic architecture to microservices to enhance scalability and flexibility. Additionally, they aimed to standardize engineering practices and introduce automation to improve efficiency and consistency.

The ideal CTO had to possess techno-commercial expertise to bridge the gap between technology and business objectives. This leader needed to establish a strong customer connection to identify the requirements and gaps, and deliver value-added solutions while simultaneously driving revenue growth.

Solutions & Execution

Aligning with Azentio’s requirement for a leader with robust product thinking capabilities, we identified Ramesh Nittur as the ideal fit. Azentio’s global presence—headquartered in Singapore, with world-class R&D centers in India and extensive operations in the Middle East—required a leader with strong business acumen and experience managing at scale. Using our proprietary Behavioral Metrics Model (BMM), we assessed Ramesh as a Reconstructor – an apt profile to rearchitect Azentio’s existing technology and business roadmap.

Azentio’s acquisition by Apax Partners added complexity to the decision-making process, requiring alignment with both the company’s CEO and its investors. Despite these dynamics, we successfully navigated the process and secured stakeholder buy-in within six months. Given the investor-driven environment, Azentio needed an aggressive and strategic leader capable of delivering results quickly—a challenge Ramesh embraced and excelled in. We also provided compensation consultation to ensure expectations were aligned for both Azentio and Ramesh.

Ramesh’s prior experience at Brane Group, Oracle, and Cisco highlighted his ability to attract talent and scale high-performing teams. His reputation as a “talent magnet” and his networking skills, honed through participation in industry events, made him an invaluable addition to Azentio.

Looking Forward

Ramesh is a forward-thinking leader committed to solving real-world challenges and driving industry impact. His vision for Azentio includes introducing automation, enhancing customer satisfaction, and scaling the company’s product offerings to address customer pain points.

Beyond his role at Azentio, Ramesh collaborates with Apax Partners’ diverse teams to deliver coherent, scalable solutions. His focus extends to establishing best engineering practices, fostering cross-functional collaboration, reducing turnaround times, and expanding Azentio’s customer base while strengthening relationships with existing clients.
